Photojournalism- I Heart Faces | San Antonio Child Photographer

Posted on August 31, 2010

This week’s theme for I Heart Faces is “Photojournalism”. I thought this was the perfect photo.

It was raining this day and had been for about a week I believe. So my children were bored out of their minds. And my oldest just sat there, so pensive. I just had to take a picture.

Be sure to check out this week’s awesome entries!

Bye Bye Baby Teeth | San Antonio Child Photographer

Posted on August 11, 2010

So I took my 5 year old to the dentist today. She’s skipped visiting the dentist for the past two years. Yea I know, what a horrible mother I’ve been.

Anyhow, since she’s about to start school *sniff*, I scheduled an appointment to get her in and checked out. Especially since she has these horrible front teeth. See, when Genesis was born, to our surprise she already had two bottom teeth. They called them “milk teeth”. Whatever that means. They said they’d fall out and she’d get her real baby teeth when it’s time. Well, they never fell off. They did however start to rot. So now at 5 years old, my baby still has these two teeth she was born with and they’re all rotten and different colors. So we definitely wanted to get something done about it before she starts school.

So anyway, we went to the dentist and as you can see, she was REALLY nervous and a bit unsure.

But she calmed down after they put on “Wizards of Waverly Place” for her and let them out the X-Ray thingy’s in.

So she was so excited when she was done with the X-Rays, she thought we were done. But nope.

They gave her these cool looking shades so that the overhead light wouldn’t blind her

Then the Hygienist started doing her thing. Then I hear, “Umm Mom, have you seen these?”

And BAM, adult teeth. Before the baby teeth even fall out. See those yellow rotten teeth in the front? Those are the teeth she was born with that I was telling you about earlier. Right behind the tooth on our left, is her adult teeth. Crazy huh?

So anyway, her baby teeth will be pulled on Tuesday and Genesis will be receiving her very first visit from the Tooth Fairy on Tuesday night.

Two Little Beauties | San Antonio Baby & Child Photographer

Posted on July 30, 2010

On Wednesday, I was able to shoot little Miss K again. You might remember THIS post from when she was just an itty bitty newborn. Miss K is now 5 months old and just beautiful! Look at her.

I think she was telling us she was done here.

There is something SO sweet about this. I just love that she looks so comfortable in her PJ’s. I just love a baby in PJ’s and I love this.

I also got to photograph Miss L for the very first time. She’s Little K’s cousin and equally as adorable!

First Hair Cut | San Antonio Child Photographer

Posted on July 18, 2010

Genesis has never had a hair cut before. Actually, I’m lying. She had a quick trim when she turned a year old. But I don’t count that because it was a small trim.

Anyway, every morning, afternoon, and evening I struggle and fight with her to get her hair brushed. She screams, kicks, cries the entire time. I always asked her if she wanted to get her hair cut that way it doesn’t get tangled, and she’d scream and cry even louder because she didn’t want to cut her hair. So I’ve never cut it. The length of her hair was right past her bottom.

Well last week, I myself decided to get MY hair cut. Well, she saw me getting mine cut and decided that she did want to cut her hair after all. However, I ignored her because I didn’t know if I was ready for that yet. I loved her long beautiful hair.

Anyway, she kept asking me and yesterday was the last straw. After fighting with her and having her scream and kick while I brushed, I decided that we would go ahead and get it cut the next day.

So knowing that it was the last day she’d have long hair, I took her out and photographed her for the last time with long hair.

All of this beautiful hair will be sent to Locks of Love. You can read more about Locks of Love HERE.

And well, today was haircut day. *sigh*

All Done.

She wasn’t in the picture taking mood today, but I did manage to get a quick shot to show her new do. I’ll try again tomorrow. I just LOVE it.

My Little Piglet | San Antonio Baby Photographer

Posted on July 11, 2010

My poor blog has been neglected this past week or so and unfortunately so was my camera. That was until yesterday and this evening when I decided to try and get a few shots of my baby. She’s at such a tough age. She just started walking, so she’s constantly running from me. I did manage to sneak a few from her though. Even though she’s a toughie, she’s a fabulous model. Although I am a bit biased.

These are from yesterday

Can you imagine how difficult it is to say no to this face???

Now, I normally don’t do this, but who doesn’t love a good outtake?

A few minutes into our shoot, it started raining outside. I don’t think she liked that very much. HA!

This evening, I went scouting locations for a shoot tomorrow. So of course, I have to test out the location right. So down goes Jules.

She’s so curious

And a few snaps, just because I <3 her. I love this little thing that she does with her tongue when she’s “running”.

I love this face.

And just because it’s hilarious…….. Another outtake from this evening.

Well it’s happened | Personal | San Antonio Baby Photographer

Posted on June 28, 2010

So almost 19 months ago, I gave birth to this beautiful girl. She’s my baby. She’ll always be my baby. Juliette has decided to be the complete opposite of my other children. Unlike her brother and sister, she wasn’t born with teeth, she wasn’t born with hair, she didn’t look like her father and she was the tiniest of all my kids. Not only that, but she decided that she wouldn’t walk either. I mean, why would she. She has a brother and sister that do everything for her. So anyway, after having her evaluated for any issues we decided to look into Early Intervention to try to help her along in case there was any delays. So we were going to start therapy next month. Well it looks like we won’t be needing that therapy after all. A baby will walk when he or she wants to walk. And it’s finally happening at 18 months old!

Look at how adorable she looks. She looks so proud of herself.

What Has 10 Legs and 50 Toes | San Antonio Newborn Photographer

Posted on June 26, 2010

A family of 5 of course!

How adorable is this? If this was mine, I think I’d print it huge and hang it above my bed. Heck it’s not mine and I still want to hang it!

Today I had the pleasure of meeting this wonderful family. They were seriously awesome. Their girls were just a JOY to work with. They were both so playful and friendly and loved each other and their baby so much.

While waiting for the Mr to fall asleep, we photographed the girls. They’re just BEAUTIFUL!

Mr C finally falls asleep.

I’m telling ya, these girls love their baby. They’re such proud big sisters.
